About

A bright, private one-bedroom guest house with its own entrance on a quiet, tree-lined Evanston street. Queen bed plus a twin alcove with a desk, full kitchen, in-unit laundry, fast Wi-Fi, and a fenced garden with seating. Free parking at the door. About 10 minutes by car or bike to Northwestern (1.5 mi) and downtown Evanston's Davis Street trains (1.2 mi). Coffee and snacks waiting. Spotless, quiet, and equipped for pets and babies.

Good to know

A private ground-floor guest house inside our owner-occupied home, with its own side entrance up a few steps with a handrail. The bedroom has a queen bed, dresser, closet, ceiling fan, room-darkening shades, and lots of natural light. Through an open doorway (no door) is a twin alcove with a twin bed, built-in shelves, and a desk, a good spot for a child, a third guest, or a workday. The living room has a sofa, TV, and a small dining table. The full kitchen has a full-size fridge, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, and cookware, plus coffee, tea, and a few snacks to get you started. In-unit washer and dryer with detergent provided. The bathroom has a tub and shower. Out the door is a private fenced garden with string lights and outdoor seating.

Other Details to Note

Getting around: Free street parking is right in front of the house, no permit needed. This is a quiet residential pocket, so plan on a car, bike, or rideshare rather than walking. Northwestern is about 1.5 miles (10 minutes by car or bike, 30 on foot). Downtown Evanston, with the Davis Street Metra and CTA Purple Line into Chicago, is about 1.2 miles (5 minutes by car, 25 to 30 on foot). Lighthouse Beach is 1.5 miles east. Endeavor Health Evanston Hospital is about 1.8 miles. A greenway with bike trails and a sculpture park starts at the end of the block. Good to know: Heating, air conditioning, and strong Wi-Fi year-round. A pack-n-play, crib, high chair, and baby bath are here for little ones. Pets are welcome with prior approval (pet fee applies). Quiet hours are 10 PM to 7 AM. We live in the main house and are a text away, but we leave you to your stay.
